MORETON MORRELL AREA 5 POINTS SHOW JUMPING SATURDAY 20th JANUARY
Thank you to everyone who turned out to represent Stoneleigh RC at the point’s show
jumping competition at Moreton Morrell on Saturday. Despite freezing cold temperatures and rain, sleet and snow you all rode really well.
The club had 2 teams in the 70cm class, Di George, Abi Rose, Alison Coleman and Elga Crump finished in 4th place with Alison 4th individually, and Annette Falkingham, Pam Rose and Kelly Marie Smith were 5th with Annette 3rd individually. A great start to the day.
The 80cm class was the biggest of the day with Anastasia Choma and Jo Marston both jumping brilliant clear rounds but not quite fast enough to be placed. Other team members included Margaret Hughes, Lucy Horner, Clare Smith and Bud Jackson who all rode well to finish just outside the team placings.
The senior 90cm class was keenly contested, and on this occasion our riders Marisa Allright, Helen Foster, Lisa Davis and Wendy Bleloch just rolled the odd pole but still finished team fifth. Lisa and Wendy I have your rosettes.
Last to go for Stoneleigh was Karen Bennett in the 100cm on her pocket rocket Tuesday where she clocked up a very fast clear round to finish individually in 2nd place.
Well done everyone, thank you to Wayne Rodwell and his team for running the event, single phase was definitely the way to go on Saturday with such terrible weather conditions

AREA 5 POINTS SHOW JUMPING AT MORETON MORRELL
What an amazing start to the 2017 season for Stoneleigh RC at the area 5 points show jumping at Moreton Morrell. Several horses across the novice and intermediate teams were reappearing after several months out of competition, but all contributed to the teams' successes.
Our two 80cm teams both jumped extremely well with our Abbey team of Helen Foster, Lucy Horner, Margaret Hughes, Jo Marston finishing 4th and our Park team of Sue Wixey, Bud Jackson, Wendy Bleloch 6th with Margaret coming a fantastic 2nd individually. Then in the Intermediate, the Village team of Lucy Bell (Blue Saffron), Philippa Gibbs (Spanky), Clare Boardman and Jenny Cowen won, with the Meadow team of Lucy Bell (Gerry Pepper), Philippa Gibbs (Easy Breeze), Jo Hayward and Marisa Allright a close second. To round off a brilliant day, Clare Boardman finished 3rd individually, with 6th place for Jo Hayward. Well done everyone. A great start to the 2017 season.
